To ensure that Chemical Engineering students gain awareness about the contribution of the experiences they gained in TÜBİTAK 2209-A/2209-B and similar undergraduate research projects to their academic and professional careers; To show how project experience can be used effectively in CV, postgraduate education, R&D career and job interviews.
The aim of the event titled "From Theory to Industry: The First Step in Chemical Engineering" is to enable first-year students of the Department of Chemical Engineering to get to know their profession more closely, to obtain information about the duties and responsibilities of chemical engineers in the industry, and to guide their career planning at an early stage. Within the scope of the event, it is aimed to share the professional experiences of a chemical engineer actively working in the sector with students, to associate the theoretical knowledge gained at the university with industrial practices and to increase the professional awareness of students.
Our department`s Research and Development and Innovation Studies Society, under the guidance of Dr. Zehra Gülten Yalçın, has had its project application titled "Production of cellulose-based thermal insulation material from recycled newspaper" accepted within the scope of the University Student Societies Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES).
As part of the career event organized by our department, a seminar titled "Nanomaterials and Their Applications" was given to our students by Dr. Özge BİLDİ CERAN in classroom MF12201 on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The Research and Development and Innovation Studies Community held a discussion event on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Rectorate Conference Hall. The event brought together invited speakers from companies operating in the Organized Industrial Zone in Çankırı with students. Attendees included: 1.ÇATSO Board Chairman Hayrettin Çelikten, 2. The R&D Innovation Studies Group and the Şabanözü-based Erna-Maş Small Appliances Manufacturing Company exchanged ideas on technical applications and production processes. A meeting was held with the company`s General Manager and Administrative Affairs Manager, who shared students` questions and answers, and provided information about the production and automation process in Turkey.
On November 11th, National Arboriculture Day, our university held a sapling planting event on our Uluyazı campus, bringing new saplings into the ground. Our department`s academic and administrative staff, students, and our student community, the R&D and Innovation Studies Group, also participated in the event.
