"Sâye", a short film created by Eren Çağatay Sarıoğlu and Duygu Mali during their studies in the Department of Cinema and Television at ÇAKÜ, has advanced to the finals of the prestigious TRT Future Communicators Competition.

Directed by Sarıoğlu with Mali serving as assistant director, the project was produced as part of the department’s Practical Workshop course under the academic mentorship of Lecturer Mustafa Kocabınar. Both filmmakers graduated from ÇAKÜ earlier this year, making the film a testament to how the university’s curriculum bridges hands-on workshop experience with creative storytelling.

Reaching the final stage of the national competition organized by the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) underscores the growing national profile and creative rigor of ÇAKÜ’s media and film programs.

Guided by an educational philosophy that empowers students to apply academic knowledge to real-world media production, Çankırı Karatekin University continues to take pride in tracking and supporting the ongoing accomplishments of its alumni.

The final winners of the TRT Future Communicators Competition will be announced at an official awards ceremony on 13 October  2026.
